William Bradley “Brad” Pitt was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri, the eldest of three children in a Southern Baptist family. His father, Bill Pitt, owned a trucking company and his mother, Jane Pitt, was a family counselor. Originally, Brad wanted to be an advertising art director and studied journalism at the University of Missouri. He had other aspirations also, his love for movies. With just two credits shy of a college degree, Pitt dropped out of college, packed up his Datsun, and headed west to pursue an acting career in LA.

Telling his parents he enrolled in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, he was actually a driver for a limousine service. He was chauffeuring strippers to bachelor parties, delivering refrigerators, and trying to get a break with the LA acting scene.

He then joined an acting class and ended up going with a classmate as her scene partner on an audition with an agent. In a twist of fate, the agent signed Pitt instead of his classmate.  It was amazing, Pitt had an agent and regular acting work just after seven months in LA.

Brad’s first jobs were in television. He appeared in several episodes of Dallas, the daytime soap Another World, the sitcom Growing Pains, and 1990’s series, Glory Days.

In 1989, the NBC movie, Too Young to Die he filmed with Juliette Lewis. They started dating and eventually moved in together, even though Lewis was 9 years his junior at just the age of 16.

Pitt’s acting career really took off after only a few minutes worth of screen time on Thelma and Louise(1991) where he played a cowboy hitchhiker who seduces Geena Davis’s character in a fiery love scene, which secured him as a genuine sex symbol.

His first leading roles were A River Runs Through It (1992), Interview with the Vampire (1994), and Legends of the Fall (1994) which earned him is first Golden Globe Nomination.

In 1995, he filmed the crime thriller Seven where he met and fell in love with actress, Gwyneth Paltrow. They dated from 1995-1997 and became engaged. He was also in Twelve Monkeys (1995), earning him a Golden Glob Award for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award Nomination.

In 1999, Brad starred in the cult hit Fight Club. In 2001, he was in the major international hit Ocean’s Eleven and its sequels Ocean’s Twelve (2004), and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).

Some of his biggest successes were Troy (2004) and Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). Brad received his second Academy Award nomination for his performance in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. (2008)

Brad also dated other co-stars including Robin Givens (Head of the Class) and Jill Schoelen (Cutting Class). (This was in late 80’s and early 90’s.)

Following a very high-profile relationship, engagement, and breakup with actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Brad Pitt met  Friends actress Jennifer Aniston in 1998 and they married in a private wedding ceremony in Malibu on July 29, 2000. For years their marriage was considered to be a rare Hollywood success. However, as the years continued, many interviews showed Brad speaking all about starting a family and that he wanted lots and lots of children. Jennifer would also be interviewed, but it would be different, yes, she would claim she wanted kids too, but after she finished Friends series, after she did some movies. It was rumored there were problems. That maybe Jennifer didn’t want kids. In January 2005, the couple announced that they decided to formally separate after seven years together. Two months later, Aniston filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

During the divorce process, Brad’s  involvement with Angelina Jolie during the filming of  Mr. and Mrs. Smith  turned into a well-publicized Hollywood scandal. While Pitt denied any claims of adultery, he later admitted that he “fell in love” with Jolie on the set and said that production was still going on for Mr. & Mrs. Smith after he and Aniston had separated.

Pitt and Aniston divorced and even though Brad and Angelina never publicly commented on the nature of their relationship, speculations continued. Pitt and Jolie were seen together more and more often. The entertainment media considered them a couple, and started calling them “Brangelina”.  Pitt and Aniston’s final divorce documents were granted on October 2, 2005, officially ending their marriage.

Despite media reports that Pitt and Aniston have an angry and hostile relationship, in a February 2009 interview, Pitt said that he and Aniston “check in with each other”, adding, “She was a big part of my life, and me hers.”

Several paparazzi photos of  Pitt and Jolie were publicized over the years, however, it wasn’t until January 11, 2006, when Angelina confirmed to People Magazine that she was pregnant with Pitt’s child and thereby confirmed their relationship for the first time.

In an October 2006 interview with Esquire,  Pitt said that he and Jolie would marry “when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able”.

Angelina and Brad Pitt currently have attracted worldwide media attention and continue to do so. They live with their three adopted children, Maddox (adopted from Cambodia), Pax (adopted from Vietnam), and Zahara (adopted from Ethiopia). They also have three biological children, Shiloh, and twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Pitt also owns a production company named Plan B Entertainment, which produced the 2007 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, The Departed among other films. Since his relationship with Angelina, he has become increasingly involved in social issues both in the United States and internationally.

He has also been cited as one of the world’s most attractive men. He has received two Academy Award Nominations and four Golden Globe Award Nominations, winning one.
